Our gold vermeil pieces are crafted using a time-honoured French method that ensures both beauty and longevity. Each jewel begins with a solid 0.925 sterling silver base, layered with a palladium barrier for protection, and finished with a thick coat of gold. We plate our designs with at least 2 microns of gold, while our rings are coated with 3 microns—perfect for pieces that endure daily wear.
The palladium barrier plays a vital role. Highly durable and corrosion-resistant, it protects against tarnishing and chemical reactions, while also being hypoallergenic. Unlike brass or copper—cheaper base metals often found in lower-quality gold plating—sterling silver ensures strength, safety, and a golden glow that endures for years.
To keep your pieces shining, gently polish them with a soft microfiber cloth (different from a silver cloth, which is too abrasive for gold vermeil). For a deeper clean, soak your jewellery in warm water with a little mild soap for five minutes. Rinse, then pat dry with a soft cloth.
For lasting beauty, Avoid contact with hard surfaces such as railings, gym equipment, or steel—these will wear down the finish quickly. Avoid contact with chemicals such as chlorine, zinc-based sunscreens, perfumes, and hair dye. Always make your jewellery the final step when getting ready.
All of our silver jewellery is made with premium 0.925 sterling silver, free from lead and nickel. Over time, sterling silver naturally oxidises, which can be easily refreshed with a polishing cloth. To keep it looking its best, avoid harsh chemicals and, as with gold vermeil, put your jewellery on last.
For regular upkeep, we recommend using a silver polishing cloth. Avoid chemical solutions or dips, as these can damage or accelerate oxidisation of sterling silver. With simple, gentle care, your jewels will remain radiant for years to come.
